Quartz sleeve

Clean, clear and undamaged quartz sleeves are of considerable significance to the effectiveness of your UV system and its ability to disinfect.

Disinfection using UV light is highly effective. However, UV light is very sensitive and a reduction in light intensity will likely occur if your quartz sleeves are not in optimal condition as this will prevent UV light from penetrating through the quartz sleeve. Reduction can be considerable even in the event of limited damage to the quartz sleeves such as scratches, scrapes or if the quartz sleeve is impaired. Moreover, intensity can also be reduced considerably if a coating forms on the outside of the sleeve (humus, lime, etc).
